ZipGrade Giveaway!!!

I've posted about ZipGrade twice before: Benefits of Using ZipGrade and Step by Step Guide to Using ZipGrade.

In a nutshell, ZipGrade is a grading tool app to assist teachers with the tedious and lengthy process of grading papers.  This app eliminates the tedious and lengthy part of grading by doing the work for you! Teachers can print the answer sheets from zipgrade.com and can scan each sheet using the camera's phone and receive a score in seconds.

When I first learned about ZipGrade, I downloaded it and used the first 100 trial scans and was hooked.  The product, for a year's worth of use, costs $6.99 for one year for an individual teacher's use.  I am a couponer, and a deal seeker, and don't often buy apps, but this app was so helpful that I splurged.  It's been extremely helpful with freeing up some of my time.  And I know districts are moving away from multiple choice assessments, but this app can still be used for quick formative assessment: exit tickets, pre-tests, etc.

The good people over at ZipGrade have been kind enough to offer the readers of I go by Miss FIVE FREE copies of ZipGrade so you too can work smarter, not harder.

  1. How excited was I to find your posts about how you've used ZipGrade in your classroom?!?! About a month ago I happened to run across something somewhere about ZipGrade and thought that it was an interesting concept. I give a short "pre-test" to my College Algebra students at the beginning of each semester so that I can get a rough idea of their prerequisite skills. My students often have very diverse math backgrounds (home-school, GED, non-traditional students, etc.). The pre-test results and student work helps me identify students who could use some extra prerequisite refreshers before getting too far into the class. It also helps me identify and advise those students who would probably benefit from withdrawing and taking the previous math course. Unfortunately, grading the pre-tests and analyzing the data takes up quite a bit of time. ZipGrade sounds like the perfect grading tool that would allow me to free up some time so that I can focus my efforts on what's really important---providing appropriate refresher material to students so that they can succeed in the course. It would also be useful in my classroom for formative assessments and as I gather data for the student objectives reports that need to be submitted to the dean at the end of each semester. I hope to be able to use ZipGrade next semester and share the results with my colleagues!

  2. Hello, how do you subscribe to your blog? I would love to win a free zip grade. I think that zipgrade will make my life easier. I've been up all night grading assignments. I need to work smarter and not harder. The students would love to get their grades quickly. It is a good idea to scan the test as soon as they are done so that they have time to review. I would love to use the data to review questions that many students answered incorrectly. It will save time. Thank you for your generosity.
